Eudora softball eliminated in Class 4A quarterfinals

Eudora’s season ended at the Class 4A state softball tournament Saturday morning in Salina.

After two different postponements, fourth-seeded Eudora and No. 5 Rose Hill finally resumed play in the quarterfinals at Bill Burke Complex. The Cardinals came back to even things up at 2-2 in the fifth, but ultimately gave up five runs in the seventh in an eventual 8-2 loss.

Rose Hill ended up claiming fourth in the Class 4A state tournament. Second-seeded Augusta captured the state title with a 5-2 win over No. 1 Andale/Garden Plain in the state championship game. Clay Center Community/Wakefield recorded a 2-1 win over Rose Hill in 10 innings during the third-place game.

The Cardinals finished the season with a 15-6 record.
