University of Kansas assistant head tennis coach Caroline Lilley has been named the new head coach of the Auburn University women’s program. Lilley spent the past four seasons helping lead KU’s tennis program back to prominence, not only in the Big 12 Conference but nationally as well.

“I couldn’t be happier for Caroline,” Kansas head coach Todd Chapman said in a team release. “There is no one more deserving of this opportunity than her. Auburn hit a home run with this hire. I can’t thank Caroline enough for her dedication and work she has done in our program the last four years. We will definitely miss her, but we couldn’t be more excited for her.”

In her four years at Kansas, Lilley was instrumental in the Jayhawks’ program turnaround. KU went from last place to first place in the Big 12 Conference during that time and this spring captured the team’s first-ever Big 12 championship. She helped lead KU to four-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, which hadn’t been done since 1996-99.
