Jeff Chasen has been hired as KU's new assistant vice provost for employee growth, development, accessibility and inclusion.

The University of Kansas has hired a new leader to oversee its policies related to making sure the campus is accessible for those with disabilities and that its work environment is inclusive.

Jeff Chasen will fill the position of assistant vice provost for employee growth, development, accessibility and inclusion. The new position is in the Human Resource Management department at KU.

Chasen will work to grow community partnerships, oversee accommodation requests, and provide training and conduct other outreach for both the staff and broader community, KU said in a news release announcing the hire.

Chasen moves into the position after having led the Office of Integrity and Compliance at KU since 2012. Chasen, who also has served as an employment law attorney in the private sector, said he thought the new position could help build a positive KU environment.

“This new position is an ideal capstone for my work throughout my career, and the responsibilities align with my personal priorities of helping create an engaging and compassionate university community,” he said via a news release.
