The longtime principal at an Osage County high school is joining Lawrence High School as an assistant principal and athletic director, the Lawrence school district announced in a news release Monday.

Patrick Graham, currently the principal at Santa Fe Trail High School, will join LHS effective July 1, pending school board approval. Graham has served as principal at Santa Fe Trail High School for 10 years, and also served as an assistant principal there for six years.

In the release, Graham said he is “excited to bring my passion for education, leadership and sports” to his dual role at LHS.

“As we work together, I am committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, supporting the academic and athletic success of our students and building strong relationships with our staff and community,” Graham said in the release. “I am eager to learn about the school’s traditions, programs and initiatives, and to contribute to the continued growth and success of Lawrence High.”

Along with his 16 years of administrative experience in Osage County, Graham also spent three years as a junior and senior high school principal for Axtell Public Schools and seven years teaching high school English in Holton, Council Grove and Ottawa.
