Evening forecast for Tuesday, June 18, 2019, as of 3:50 p.m.

A tornado watch has been canceled for Douglas County and other parts of northeast Kansas.

The National Weather Service in Topeka issued the tornado watch Tuesday afternoon and canceled it for Douglas County and several surrounding counties at around 5:35 p.m. The watch remains in effect for several counties in central Kansas, however.

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are still expected to continue into the evening, potentially bringing large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall to the Lawrence area, the weather service said.
