The Douglas County Commission will convene for a meeting with a brief agenda on Wednesday.
All of the items the commissioners will consider are listed for the meeting’s consent agenda, which allows the commissioners to consider and approve several items in one motion, unless a commissioner or member of the public asks to pull an item for discussion.
The items include consideration of awarding a construction contract to MegaKC Corporation worth about $152,000 to repair a drainage structure for Lakeview Lake in northern Douglas County. They also include the consideration of a revision to Lone Star Lake’s regulations in preparation for the county in June to install an ADA-accessible fishing dock along the north shore of the lake’s east arm, which is also known as the “swimming arm.”
Currently, fishing is prohibited in the swimming arm between May 1 and Sept. 15, according to a memo to the commissioners. If approved, the amended regulations would allow for fishing in the swimming arm during that time, but only from the planned dock.
The County Commission will meet through an online video conference at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The meetings will be open to the walk-in public at the county courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St., but a link for the public to watch live online is available on the county’s website, douglascountyks.org. Residents may also call in and listen by phone by dialing 1-312-626-6799 and entering meeting ID 980-2953-9170. Full audio from the meeting will continue to be posted on the county’s website, as usual. The meeting’s full agenda may also be found on the county’s website.
