City conducting resident satisfaction survey to inform strategic plan

Starting Dec. 16, some Lawrence residents will begin receiving invitations to participate in a community survey.

The survey will ask residents for their feedback on City of Lawrence services and programs, according to a news release from the city. The survey is being administered by ETC Institute, a firm that performs local government research. The city had similar surveys conducted in the past, the most recent in 2015.

Residents randomly selected to participate in the survey will receive an invitation and instructional letter in the mail along with the survey. The city urged residents to take the time to complete every question, as results from the survey will be used to inform the City Commission’s 2020 strategic plan update.

ETC will compile and analyze the survey data, which will be available on the city’s website and presented to the commission in early 2020. Individual responses will remain confidential. The city will also create a similar survey for the Lawrence Listens platform early next year that will be available communitywide.
