Lawrence Police Department

One man was robbed of his shoes and jacket Wednesday morning at a Lawrence hotel, police documents say.

At 2:22 a.m., a robbery was reported at Days Inn, 730 Iowa St., according to a Lawrence Police Department incident report.

Department activity logs classified the incident as an armed robbery with nine officers responding to the scene.

The man told police he was robbed of his driver’s license, Air Jordan shoes and a Star Wars jacket, the report says. The shoes are estimated to be worth $125 while the jacket is estimated to be worth $20.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Amy Rhoads said additional details were not immediately available because the incident’s report was not yet complete.

As of Wednesday afternoon no arrests in the Douglas County Jail booking logs correspond with the robbery’s incident number.

This is the third armed robbery reported in Lawrence in a week.

On Oct. 19 three people are accused of invading a North Lawrence home and robbing the residents at gunpoint. Two of the three suspects — Antonio Esparza, 20, and Joshua Fairbanks, 21 — were arrested and are currently being held in the Douglas County Jail.

Police say Esparza and Fairbanks each face a single charge of aggravated robbery. The third suspect has not been arrested.

On Friday, Tyler James Koch, 21, is accused of robbing one person’s phone at gunpoint and breaking into a Colorado Street home and threatening the occupants with a gun.

Koch was arrested Monday and faces two felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one felony count of aggravated burglary and one felony count of aggravated robbery. He is currently being held in the Douglas County Jail.
