KU Crime Blotter: Week of April 25 through May 1

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, April 25, and Sunday, May 1. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

May 1

• Police found someone in possession of a controlled substance about 6:40 a.m. May 1 at Naismith Hall. The suspect was arrested.

• A theft occurred about 1:50 a.m. May 1 at the Kansas Union. Someone was found with a chair that belonged to the victim.

April 30

• Someone took a wallet that had been lost or mislaid between April 29 and April 30 at Templin Hall. Loss was valued at $39.

• Police found someone with an active arrest warrant (for failure to appear) and in possession of a controlled substance about 7:45 a.m. April 30 on West 11th Street. The person was arrested.

April 29

• Property crime occurred between April 19 and April 29, reported at the KU Office of Public Safety. Someone deposited a worthless check into the victim’s account, and the victim sent part of the money back to the suspect. Loss was valued at $1,350.

April 28

• Someone damaged a power distribution panel between April 26 and April 28 at Rieger Scholarship Hall. Damage was estimated at $10,000.

• Police found multiple people in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia about 1:20 a.m. April 28 in Lot 111, 500 block of West 11th Street. One or more of the suspects were arrested.

April 27

• Someone stole an unattended laptop from a computer lab April 27 at Eaton Hall. Loss was valued at $1,200.

• Someone took a bicycle and lock from a bike rack at Oswald Hall, between April 20 and April 26. Loss was valued at $420.
