Emporia ? Lawrence High’s boys tennis team finished fifth on Tuesday at the Emporia Tournament for its season-opening competition.

Elliott Abromeit, Zach Bowie and Brendan Connor competed in the singles’ spots for Lawrence High, all finishing 1-1 and placing fourth overall in their respective brackets.

Chanse Bowie and Hunter Jewell highlighted the Lions’ doublea matches by going 2-1 to earn a fifth-place finish.

Lawrence High will be back in action against Bishop Seabury on Friday at LHS.
