Police take 8 children from Wichita home after 3 were found wandering a street
Wichita ? Eight children from a single Wichita family are in protective custody after three were found wandering a street saying they were looking for a new place to live.
Passers-by spotted the children — ages 5, 6 and 7 — around 6 a.m. Wednesday. The children told police they were being physically abused by their parents.
KSNW-TV reports officers took the children back to their home where they found five more children, ages 4 months to 8 years.
Wichita police Lt. Steven Kenney says authorities determined the living conditions in the home to be unsuitable for children.
All eight are believed to be the children of a 36-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman. The parents have not been arrested.
