Artist’s home receives historical society grant

The John Steuart Curry Boyhood Home in Oskaloosa has been awarded funding from the Kansas Historical Society’s Heritage Trust Fund.

The home, given to the Jefferson County Historical Society in 1987, commemorates the life and work of Kansas painter John Steuart Curry, who died in 1946. The $6,000 grant will be used for upgrades to the heating and cooling system in the home needed to help preserve Curry’s work.
