Wichita man pleads guilty in meth operation
Hutchinson ? A Wichita man pleaded guilty to three drug charges in what officers have called the largest methamphetamine bust in Reno County history.
The Hutchinson News reports that 53-year-old Angel Humberto Anaya Mata pleaded guilty Monday to distribution of methamphetamine, conspiracy to distribute meth and a drug tax stamp violation.
Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 7.
Anaya Mata was arrested May 14 after officers found nearly 4 pounds of suspected ice meth in a storm cellar in Hutchinson. The drugs had an estimated street value of $170,000.
Police say Anaya Mata brought the meth to Hutchinson from Wichita. A second man, Bruno Garcia-Salaises was also arrested. He was recently charged in federal court with possession of meth with intent to distribute.
