The Friends of Hospice of Jefferson County will host the eighth annual Taste of Elegance benefit at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at Perry-Lecompton High School, 404 Lecompton Road in Perry.

The event will feature a buffet of appetizers and specialty candy, as well as a silent auction including travel packages, furniture and antiques.

Proceeds will benefit Hospice of Jefferson County. More than 400 attendees helped raise more than $35,000 last year, organizers said.

Cydney Boler, the 2009 Mrs. Kansas United States, and Kevin Borger, 2009 International Auctioneer Champion, will be guest hosts at the event.
