The city council has changed the name of the macadam highway to the government institute to Barker Avenue to honor Mayor George Barker. … Wells-Fargo and the Pacific Express Co. have split up here and we could be faced with an express wars. New management is planned for Pacific Express. … The advance guard of the YMCA convention here began pouring in this morning and more than 750 are due for the convention.
