From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 15, 1908: Four new buildings and a total appropriation of $300,000 to construct them will be in the budget Kansas University Chancellor Frank Strong will submit to the Legislature next February. Most important of all the appropriations is $75,000 to construct a dormitory on Mount Oread for the girls of the university. Another important amount is $125,000 for one wing of a new liberal arts and science building. The chancellor is planning to make this the main building of the university and it will cost, when completed, more than $500,000.
