WNBA player joins KU women’s staff

Tamika Raymond, an assistant coach at Ohio State for the last five seasons, has joined the Kansas University women’s basketball staff. Raymond, 28, replaces Kyra Elzy, who left last month to become an aide at Kentucky.

Raymond, a native of Dayton, Ohio, is on the roster of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun after spending the last six seasons with the Minnesota Lynx. A 6-foot-2 forward, she was the sixth overall pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft after a four-year career at UConn, where she was a member of two NCAA championship teams (2000 and 2002).
