Tri-City Christian sweeps Veritas
Independence, Mo. ? After hanging tough for the first quarter, Veritas Christian’s girls basketball team was overwhelmed in the second and fell to Tri-City Christian, 66-48, Tuesday.
Playing without injured leading scorer and rebounder Kristie Tiegreen, Veritas played the bigger opponent even for eight minutes, but fell apart in a 22-4 second quarter.
“We controlled the boards in the first quarter,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said. “We had a second quarter that really did us in.”
Tri-City boys 61, Veritas 43
Independence, Mo. – Ethan Scott scored 15 points and Michael Kay added 13, but Veritas Christian’s boys basketball team stumbled.
