School Kit Program accepting applicants
Ballard Community Services is accepting applications for its annual School Kit Program through the end of the month.
The program provides school supplies to families in need. The program judges eligibility using free and reduced school lunch guidelines. Applicants must bring photo identification, documentation of children’s Social Security numbers and proof of household income.
Ballard expects the program to provide supplies to about 250 children.
To apply, families can go to the Ballard Center, 708 Elm, weekdays between 9 a.m. and noon, and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.; or they can go to Penn House, 1035 Pa., weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. To schedule a different application time, families can call the Ballard Center at 842-0729, ext. 105, or Penn House at 842-0440.
