The Betty Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Nov. 17 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. The vice regent read the president general’s message. A Constitution minute and the National Defense report were read. Officer and committee reports were given.

Before the meeting, Aliene Bieber gave a presentation on “Aprons Through the Years.”

The University Bridge Club announces results of its Dec. 1 meeting. Hosts were Dave and Mary Gaumer with Ray and Myrna Ikenberry.

Blue winners were Walt Hicks, first; Alice Akin, second; Harold Riehm, third; Dave Gaumer, fourth; and George Bocquin, fifth.

Pink winners were Darlene Schneider, first; Florence McNicoll, second; Cora Kuepker, third; Jane Golden, fourth; and Donna Gatts, fifth.

The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game Nov. 28 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South winners were Harry Shaffer and Ed Howard, followed by Clarice Broz and Marilyn Martin in second place A and first in B and C. Klee Zaricky and Betty Collier were third in A and second in B, followed by Lester Dalton and Mary Fenlon at fourth in A and third in B. Betty Spalsbury and Margrete Hartman placed second in C.

The East-West winners were Madelyn Jenks and Virginia Seaver, followed by John Reese and Shirley Reese at second in A and first in B. David Piro and Paul Heitzman were third in A, with Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges at fourth in A and second in B. Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel placed first in C.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Bridge Club’s game Nov. 29 was directed by Chris Lane. First place was a tie between Arkie Vaughn and Chuck Hedges, with Earle Core and Lester Dalton. Third place was a tie between Eldon Herd and Bebe Huxtable, with Yvonne Hedges and Jean Khatib.

The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game Nov. 30 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South winners were Sally Taylor and Klee Zaricky at first in A and B, with Betty Collier and Lois Clark at second in A and B and first in C. Kent McCullough and Chuck Hedges placed third in A, with Adie Nyquist and Marilyn Martin in second place in C.

The East-West winners were Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton at first in A, B and C, with Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman at second in A. Shirley Reese and Carol Ball placed third in A and second in B. Ginny Johnston and Barbara McCorkle placed second in C.

The Monday Evening Bridge Club’s game Dec. 3 was a special sectional tournament at 11 tables directed by Virginia Seaver.

The North-South winners were Chris Lane and Mona Bell at first in A and B, followed by Craig Huneke and Jeff Mermin at second in A and B and first in C. Harry Shaffer and Terry Tolar placed third in A and B, with Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough at fourth in A and B. Pat Burgstahler and Margarete Hartman were second in C.

East-West winners were Paul Heitzman and Donna Johnson, followed by Jeane Landry and Lois Clark at second in A. David Piro and Jeffrey Nash were third in A, with Eldon Herd and Jerry Sloan at fourth in A and first in B. Pat Musick and Jolene Andersen placed second in B and first in C.
