Omaha, Neb. ? The Kansas University swimming and diving team started the 2006-07 season in record-breaking fashion.

Junior Lauren Bonfe and freshman Maria Mayrovich set pool records as KU defeated Nebraska-Omaha, 220-79, and South Dakota State, 227-17.

Bonfe set the record while winning the 100-yard butterfly, while Mayrovich did the same in the 100-yard freestyle. Mayrovich also won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events.

Kansas will head to Missouri on Oct. 27. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
