¢ Pool Gold: Emma Reaney of the Lawrence Aquahawks won eight swimming gold medals at the Aquahawk Invitational and seven golds at the Air Capital Invitational in Wichita. Other Aquahawks winners are Aquahawk Invitational were Molly Albrecht, Cameron Case, Caitlin Gallagher, Maddie McCaffrey, Anthony Portela, Chloe Portela, Ashley Robinson and Alyssa Rudman. Also taking gold in Wichita were Albrecht, Zach Andregg, Anthony Portela, Chloe Portela and Ben Sloan.

¢ Hodgson Golf Champ: Kent Hodgson fired a 66 for the low score in the weekly Jayhawk Golf Club net tournament Sunday at Alvamar. Bill Kowalchuck shot 67, John Charnes 68 and Jeff Miller 69. Keith Wallace, Rob Werling and Mike Hertling all recorded 70s. Werling carded the low gross score, also a 70.

¢ Roll Workout: Fred Roll Workout’s second session of classes will begin next week at First Serve and run through Aug. 31. The Tuesday and Thursday beginning fitness program is geared toward eventual weight training. For information, call 331-8200 or e-mail freroll13@hotmail.com.

¢ Mihura Top Tosser: Wynne Mihura of Lawrence won the A Division of the Lawrence Open horseshoes tournament at Broken Arrow Park over Percy Oliver of Garnett and Doyle Parker of St. George. Ken Riebel of Iola captured the B Division with Ken Martin of Baldwin second and Clyde Merrill of Garnett third.

¢ Wilson to Compete: Lawrence’s Sydney Wilson will compete in the Optimist International Junior Golf championship July 27-30 at the National Resort and Spa in Palm Gardens, Fla. Wilson, a May graduate of Lawrence High, is a Kansas University signee.

¢ Hutchens Hole-in-One: Chris Hutchens of Lawrence used a pitching wedge to ace the 125-yard No. 5 hole at Lake Perry CC. Witnesses were Craig Wright, Dave Remont and Tom Anderson.
