Radio program to honor Scotty Harjo

A radio program will pay tribute to Scotty Harjo, a longtime Haskell Indian Nations University counselor, residential assistant and coach.

Harjo died Wednesday. He was 78.

“I will play a song for him, a veteran’s song. I will honor him,” said Rhonda LeValdo, host of “Native Spirit Radio,” which airs at 1 p.m. on Sundays on KKFI 90.1 FM.

Harjo, a Seminole and Creek, was awarded two Bronze Stars for his actions during the Korean War.
