Chris Anderson and Todd Chapple each shot 150. Scot Buxton and Van Reichert came in at 152 apiece. In net scoring, Gary Stella and Tony Linville were co-champions at 138. Mike Stein shot 140. Dave Davison and Duane Dickson came in at 142. At 143 were Randy Gebhards, Charles Pauls and Tom Taylor.

¢ Boeck Age-Group Winner: Dee Boeck of Lawrence won the women’s ages 50-plus division of the Quivira Mile Race in Overland Park. Wally Brawner of Tonganoxie was second in the men’s 50-plus category. Lawrence’s D.J. Hilding was fourth in the men’s ages 20-34 group.

¢ Goodwin Seventh: Lawrence’s Brandon Goodwin finished seventh in the Greco-Roman division of the National Junior Wrestling Championships in Fargo, N.D.

¢ Orchards Hole-in-One: Tony Tacono used a 3-iron to ace the par-four 240-yard No. 3 hole last week at the Orchards Golf Course. Witnesses were Ray Freels, Don Daniels and J.R. Alofipo.

¢ Rowing Standouts: John Swinford of Lawrence was a national finalist in the U.S. Rowing championships last month and Indianapolis. Also, Jenny Schaetzel, a Kansas University freshman, earned a bronze medal in the women’s elite singles dash. Swinford and Schaetzel compete for Topeka Rowing.
