Raiders win state title

? A seven-run seventh inning carried the Lawrence Raiders to a 13-6 victory over Emporia in the AAA Kansas American Legion baseball tournament championship game Tuesday at Evans Stadium.

Travis Ice stroked a two-run double and Brett Lisher a two-run home run to spark the big inning that snapped a 3-3 deadlock and carried the Raiders (32-6) to their fourth straight state championship.

Right-hander Scott Heitshusen went the route for his second victory in the state tourney, fanning 13 Emporia batters.

The Raiders qualified for the Central Plains Regional next week in Aberdeen, S.D.
