Fishing report

CLINTON LAKE (Updated 4-20) – Crappie good. Fish close to shore. Most being caught on jigs over rocky areas. Minnows have been working, too. Water is 1.14 feet above normal. Water temperature varies from 60 degrees in main lake to 65 in upper end. Lake was stocked with 3.5 million walleye fry and 700,000 sauger fry last week.

LONE STAR LAKE (Updated 4-20) – Largemouth bass fair. Anglers are picking some fish up on shallow running crankbaits, jigs and plastic worms. Crappie good. Most being caught off rocky banks and brushpiles using minnows and jigs.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (Updated 4-20) – Closed to fishing. Lake has been drained for repair of dam and water-intake line. An additional 40 cedar tree fish attractors were anchored last week.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (Updated 4-20) – Largemouth bass fair using jigs, plastic worms and suspending crankbaits. Crappie fair using jigs off piers and in coves. Wiper fair using jigs. Crappie fair using jigs and minnows off piers and in coves. Water 68 degrees and clear.

PERRY LAKE (Updated 4-11) – Channel catfish fair up the creeks when the waters runs on worms or cut shad. Sauger fair on rocky points on west side towards the dam on crankbaits and twisters. White bass good. Spawn is on. Fish up the river or on rocky points using twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie fair on tube jigs or minnows at 6-16 feet over brush. Some are moving to banks for spawn.

LAKE SHAWNEE (Updated 4-20) – Wiper fair using jigs off points. Crappie good from the bank on jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass fair on small crankbaits, jigs and plastic worms.
