Law students honored for committee work

? Several Kansas University law students were honored last week by the Kansas Criminal Justice Committee.

Students of professor Tom Stacy, who serves on the committee, spent the past semester doing research, compiling data, and writing memos and position pieces for the committee’s recodification subcommittee.

The Criminal Justice Committee, made up of elected officials and professionals with criminal justice backgrounds, passed a motion to honor the law students Thursday.

The committee also will award them with framed certificates of appreciation.

This was the first time Stacy involved his students in a project like this. He said it was a valuable learning experience for them, and he hoped to continue the practice with future students.
