Eudora boys win tournament title on home floor

? Mike Ortega scored 11 points, and Tim DeArmond added nine, helping Eudora High hold on for a 49-48 victory over K.C. Piper in the championship game of the Eudora Tournament.

Rodney Spillman added eight points for the Cardinals, who trailed by five points after the first quarter but rallied.

Baldwin 79, Kansas City Ward 63

Eudora – Jeremy Wright scored 17 for Baldwin in the third-place game at the Eudora Tournament.

Wellsville 50, Central Heights 47

Richmond – Wellsville overcame a six-point deficit with less than two minutes remaining to win the Central Heights Tournament championship.

Wellsville (4-0) was led by Kyle Wright with 10 points. Austin Bloss and Thatcher Starling added eight points apiece.

Pleasant Ridge 75, Oskaloosa 67

Atchison – Oskaloosa fell behind by seven points after the first quarter and couldn’t rally in the third-place game at the DVL preseason tournament.

De Soto 46, Central Heights 23

Richmond – Kira Gonzalez and Jackie Goleman each scored 10 points, lifting De Soto to a victory in the third-place game at the Central Heights tournament.

De Soto (2-1) will play

host Tuesday to Gardner-Edgerton.

Doniphan West 48, Oskaloosa 34

Atchison – Oskaloosa couldn’t get going until the fourth quarter, falling in the fifth-place game at the Delaware Valley League preseason tournament.
