Kathel Louise Thomas Snook, McLouth, will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 11 at the McLouth United Methodist Church. She was born Dec. 14, 1915, the daughter of Lloyd and Edith Thomas in Fort Scott.

She was married to Dr. Robert R. Snook for 57 years. He died in 1993. She has four daughters, Nina Blindt, South Dakota, Meredith Edmonds, McLouth, Susan Baldwin, Basehor, and Carolyn Kimberlin, Austin, Colo. She has 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

¢ Eric Herman, Lawrence, has accepted membership in Golden Key International Honour Society and was honored during a recent induction ceremony at Kansas State University. The organization provides recognition to college juniors and seniors in the top 15 percent of their class as well as leadership development opportunities, community service, career networking and scholarships.

¢ Several St. Olaf College students from Lawrence are performing this weekend in the St. Olaf Christmas Festival at the college in Northfield, Minn. They are: Joel Beard, Merry Chadwick, Annie Kettle, Rachel Wigen-Toccalino and Adam Pearce.

¢ Darya Alexander and Matthew Snyder, Neenah, Wis., announce the birth of their son, Owen Andrew Snyder, born Nov. 4, 2005, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. Owen has a brother, Dean Alexander Snyder, 21 months.
