Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline volunteers who worked at the

These couples from the Eudora area took an Alaskan cruise on the
ship Dawn Princess. The travelers were, from bottom to top of
stairs, Kenny and Wanda Whaley, Norman and Darlene Musick,
Geraldine and Jerry Wilcox, and Marilyn and Bob Lindeen. Pictured

funds for the nonprofit independent and assisted senior living

Star provided two days of exterior maintenance, tree trimming and
removal, and landscaping services to the United Way of Douglas
County's center, 2518 Ridge Court. It was the company's Day of
Caring project. The company also provided a lunch for tenants of
the United Way center.

1429 Kasold Drive. The Sept. 14 benefit helped raise funds for the
manor, a nonprofit independent and assisted senior living facility.

The Kansas Volunteer Commission lauded Lawrence employees of
Capitol Federal Savings with the You Make A Difference Award. From
left are Joe Oberzan, Mary Alice Barr and Deborah Johnston, Capitol

Volunteer Center. Jo Bryant, of the United Way of Douglas County,
is in front. They attended the Kansas Volunteer Commission banquet
Sept. 23 in Wichita. The Roger Hill Volunteer Center, a United Way
agency, nominated Capitol Federal Savings and received a ,000
award in honor of the bank's volunteer efforts.
From left, George Waters, Dave Owens and Joel Berry, all of
Lawrence, won the Clinton Pointe Homeowners golf tournament at
Eagle Bend. The Sept. 18 tournament attracted 16 participants. The
tournament raised money to replace trees in the southeast Lawrence
neighborhood that had been damaged during the tornado in May 2003.
