Paul H. ‘Sonny’ Lassen

? Graveside services for Paul H. “Sonny” Lassen, 76, rural Moran, will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Savonburg.

Mr. Lassen died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at his home.

He was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Parsons, the son of Homer L. and Edith Lyles Lassen. He attended school in Parsons and had lived in Savonburg.

Mr. Lassen enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 1950s. He worked as a cement finisher in southeast Kansas until he retired in the late 1980s.

He was a member of Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons International Association of the United States and Canada Local 518 and National Rifle Assn.

He married Ilene Kimrey on June 25, 1946, in Parsons. She died March 25, 1997.

Survivors include three sons, Donald, Pete and Bob, all of Lawrence; three daughters, Carol Wade and Ginger Taylor, both of Chanute, and Denna Myers, Moran; a brother, Jim, Salome, Ariz.; a sister, Maryann Redman, Parsons; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
