Oren Dean Nickelson

HILL CITY ? Services for Oren Dean Nickelson, 55, Penokee, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City. Burial will be in Penokee Cemetery.

Mr. Nickelson died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Graham County Hospital in Hill City.

He was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Hays, the son of Russell Oren and Dorothy Jean Nickelson. He was a lifelong resident of the Penokee area.

Mr. Nickelson was a farmer and stockman. He was a Vietnam War veteran and member of National Rifle Assn., Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

He married Diana R. Keith on Nov. 27, 1976, in Hill City. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his mother, Penokee; two sons, Jarrod, Lawrence, and Jay, Penokee; three brothers, Roland, Dallas, Allen, Salina, and Russell “Rusty,” WaKeeney; and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Spencer-Stinemetz Chapel in Hill City, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to the Emergency Fund for the DAV of Graham County, sent in care of the funeral home, 522 N. Pomeroy Ave., Hill City 67642.
