LHS to rededicate historic Lawrence bell

One of the earliest Lawrence artifacts will be rededicated during a ceremony Sunday.

A 1,600-pound bell hoisted atop the Unitarian Church in 1858 has a new home in the Lawrence High School cafeteria. The display case, which includes information on Lawrence and LHS history, was completed by the class of 2004 to commemorate the city’s sesquicentennial.

The ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the school, 1901 La.
