Marlin C. ‘Keah’ Thomas

? Drum services for Marlin C. “Keah” Thomas, 67, Delia, will be Friday evening at the Danceground on Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Reservation southwest of Mayetta. Burial will be Saturday morning at the Danceground Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka.

He was born Dec. 21, 1936, on the reservation, the son of Charles K. and Lillian Shopteese Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was a retired carpenter and had worked for several years as maintenance supervisor for the reservation. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the Prairie Band of Potawatomi Nation and the Drum Religion.

Survivors include a sister, LeVeda Wahweotten, Hoyt; five brothers, Dale “Nowatin” Thomas, Brimley, Mich., Charles “Babe” Thomas, Delia, Melvin Thomas, Topeka, Bob Hubbard, Lawrence, and John Pewamo, Hoyt; and adopted father Andy Mitchell, Mayetta.

Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
