The Islamic Center of Lawrence, 1917 Naismith Drive, will be host to an Eid ul-Adha meal at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The meal celebrates the Muslim holiday known as the “festival of sacrifice,” and it coincides with the end of the main portion of the annual pilgrimage (or hajj) that millions of Muslims make to the holy city of Mecca.

The meal is open to the public. It will feature rice, vegetables, hummus, chicken and lamb, as well as a variety of traditional, homemade desserts.

Guests do not need to bring anything but should plan on dressing modestly.
