Jenny and Jason Hohman

Jenny Schierbaum, Chariton, Iowa, and Jason Hohman, Lawrence, were married Sept. 27, 2003, at the Free Methodist Church in Lawrence with Jerry Tubach officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Deborah Schierbaum, Creston, Iowa. The groom is the son of Jack and Patricia Hohman, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Jessica Schierbaum. Best man was Jonathan Schwarz. Bridesmaids were Staci Schwarz, Rae Ann Scharenberg and Emily Winkleman. Groomsmen were Jacob Schierbaum, Jeremy Tiemann, Matt Van Hoesen and Chris Hayward. Ashlyn Schwarz was flower girl. Ailey Hunter and Mariah Hunter were program attendants. Donna Hawk, Linda Geil, Donna Springer and Kim Pratt were cake and gift table attendants. Jackie Spaulding created the flower arrangements and was the bride’s personal attendant.

A reception was given at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Chariton High School. She earned an English degree in 2003 from Kansas University. She is a licensed insurance representative and works for American Family Insurance.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a degree in exercise science from KU in 2000. He plans to graduate in May with a master’s degree in exercise physiology at KU. He is employed with Olathe Medical Center in the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation department.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Mellard-Dorssom

Ashley and Charles Dorssom

Ashley Mellard, Perry, and Charles Dorssom, Lecompton, were married Dec. 27, 2003, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Perry with the Revs. Bob Hasenkamp and Francis Hund officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Daryl and Ellen Mellard, Perry. The groom is the son of James and Martha Dorssom, Lecompton.

Maid of honor was Kelsey Mellard. Best man was Scott Roberts. Bridesmaids were Caela Moderow, Erin Roberts, Becky Wiese and Elizabeth Galm. Groomsmen were Jarad Mellard, Adam Dorssom, Matt Bahnmaier and Sean Beckner.

Flower girl was Ellie Lancaster. Ring bearer was Ryan Roberts. Ushers were Brady Gowin and Ben Armour.

A reception was given at Abe and Jake’s Landing, Lawrence.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in health administration and policy in December 2003 from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in atmospheric science from Kansas University. He works in meteorology for the U.S. Air Force.

The couple reside in Tucson, Ariz.
