Wecker’s double-double powers K-State

? Kendra Wecker scored 21 points and had 14 rebounds, leading No. 22 Kansas State past Saint Joseph’s, 68-49, Thursday night.

Wecker made nine of 16 shots, and Laurie Koehn added 11 points for the Wildcats (8-2).

Kansas State led 36-30 with 14:12 left before an 11-0 run during the next 5 minutes increased its lead to 47-30. The Hawks (2-10) did not make a field goal for the first 10:45 of the second half.

During that span, Saint Joseph’s missed nine shots while making seven free throws.

The Hawks, who have lost seven straight games, were led by Maura McBryan with 12 points.

Ayahna Cornish added 10 points.

Kansas State won its fourth straight and outrebounded Saint Joseph’s 48-25.
