Charles ‘Ed’ Hunter

? Services for Charles “Ed” Hunter, 89, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mr. Hunter died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1914, in Williamstown, the son of John and Sarah (Carney) Hunter.

He retired in 1991 as owner of Hunter Lumber Co., Tonganoxie.

A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Hunter was a member of the Christian Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was past master of Henri Masonic Lodge No. 190 A.F. & A.M., all of Tonganoxie.

He married Dorothy Cunningham on June 19, 1943, in Jackson, Miss. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Sandra Benedict, Marsha Albert, Gail Heintzelman and Pam Field, all of Tonganoxie; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, is in charge of arrangements.
