Firefighters training at KU residence hall
Don’t be alarmed by the firefighters huddled around McCollum Hall at Kansas University the next few days — they’re only completing a training exercise.
Fire personnel from Douglas County Fire & Medical will be working on high-rise ladder training Thursday, Friday and Saturday, said Lynn Bretz, a university spokeswoman.
She said several people have called various KU offices asking if there is a fire at McCollum Hall. KU periodically allows Douglas County Fire & Medical to use the residence hall for their training exercise.
