Peggy Joan Morelock

? Services for Peggy Joan Morelock, 68, Topeka, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka. Burial will be in Mission Center Cemetery, Topeka.

Ms. Morelock died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at her home.

She was born March 10, 1935, in Kettle Island, Ky., the daughter of Richard Herbert and Irene Mexico (Craft) Cox. She attended Hall High School in Yancy, Ky. She had lived in Topeka since 1971.

Ms. Morelock was a supervisor in unclaimed property in the State Treasurer’s Office until she retired in 2000. She had previously worked in retail sales for J.C. Penny’s for 13 years. She attended Liberty Baptist Church in Corbin, Ky., and Faith Lutheran Church.

She married John Morelock on May 18, 1950, in Yancy. They later divorced.

Survivors include seven daughters, Joanie O’Connor, Joyce Broils, Jackie Sommer, Jennifer Hunter and June Trask, all of Topeka; Jeanie Hetrick, Lawrence, and Janice Parmenter, Smithville, Mo.; her mother, Corbin, Ky.; a brother, Bobby Cox, Cincinnati; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home in Topeka, where family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
