Community: Yart Sale raises money for neighborhood group

Selling everything from bottle-cap magnets to decorative stepping stones, the East Lawrence Neighborhood Assn. raised several hundred dollars Saturday.

The third annual ELNA Yart Sale — a combination of an art and yard sale — was from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at New York School gymnasium, 936 N.Y.

Association president Ed Tato said a couple of hundred people had passed by the numerous booths, and he guessed that proceeds were similar to the $960 raised last year.

The neighborhood association plans to give at least $100 of the proceeds to the school; Tato said the rest would be used later to help residents in need with home and yard repairs.
