The Kanwaka 4-H Club met June 3. Amanda Dray and Steward Wakeman led the club in the flag salute. P.J. Butenbender led the club in singing “Bingo.” Members answered roll call by naming their worst experience at camp. Alex Price read the minutes of the last meeting.

There will be a blood drive from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 23 at the Kanwaka Township Hall. The club decided to have a mini-fair before the Douglas County Free Fair and a skating party this summer. Curtis Wakeman gave a presentation on rocketry. Members had a water balloon toss for recreation. The Dray family provided refreshments for the meeting.

The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. July 1.

  • The Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club had an exchange meeting with the Lonestar 4-H Club on May 12. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite animal. A program was provided by members enrolled in the following projects: horse, photography, swine, sheep or leadership.

Members had a potluck dinner June 9 at the Schumanns’ residence and invited alumni of the club.

The club will be hosts of a social exchange with the Clinton Eagles 4-H Club from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 21. Members need to bring a snack and a board game to play.

  • Vinland Valley 4-H Club met June 2 at Vinland Elementary School. It was announced that fair entries are due by 5 p.m. June 30. The club voted to paint bleachers at 5 p.m. July 6 at the Vinland Fairgrounds. The program was provided by members enrolled in the beef project. The Buck and Stone families provided refreshments.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. July 7 at Vinland Elementary School.

  • The Clinton Eagles 4-H Club met June 2. The meeting was called to order by Haven Bouton. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite flavor of ice cream. Shelby Harrell agreed to take the club’s secretary position for Allison Richardson who is temporarily leaving the club.

Members were reminded to turn in enrollment forms by June 30. The club decided to have a mini-tour and to participate in a blood drive with the Kanwaka 4-H Club. The club will have a game night with the Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club. Members were asked to help at the Douglas County Free Fair. Members also decided to make ornaments for this year’s Festival of Trees tree.

Steven Hodges gave a presentation about his black rabbit that he will be entering at the fair. Delaney Dieker gave a project talk on her bucket calf.
