The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met June 25 for its weekly game. Eight pairs competed in a Stratified game that used a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game. Olivier Urruty and Don Brennaman claimed first place. Harriet Olson and Artie Shaw finished second in A and first in B and C. Dick Moore and Bobbi McCorkle took third in A and second in B.

• The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club met June 27 for its weekly competition. Nine and a half tables competed in a Stratified game that used a Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Playing North-South, Erna Holmes and Frances Vogel took first place. Chuck Hedges and Meredith Docking placed second in A and first in B. Shirley Reese and Yvonne Hedges came in third in A and second in B. Virginia Seaver and Kent McCullough took fourth place in A. Competing East-West, Cathy Blumenfeld and Mike Blumenfeld claimed first place in A, B and C. Phyllis Brownlee and Jean Otney placed second in B and C. Shari Krentzel and Rose Roth finished third in A and B and second in C. Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman came in fourth. Don Brennaman and Emily Foster placed fourth in B.

Playing North South, Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough finished in first place. Virginia Seaver and Chris Lane placed second. Clyde Romer and Steve Phillips came in third in A and first in B. Sally Taylor and Shirlie Vaughn placed fourth in A and second in B. Jerry Sloan and Dan Schultz placed fifth. Yvonne Hedges and Shirley Reese finished third in B. Mary Beth Treece and Bobbi McCorkle took first in C. Sitting East-West, Donna Johnson and Mike Blumenfeld took first place. Don Bush and Chuck Hedges placed second in A and first in B and C. Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman came in third. Vince Russo and Terry Tolar placed fourth in A and second in B. Pat Radford and Betty Collier finished fifth. Don Brennaman and Olivier Urruty placed third in B and second in C.

• The University Bridge Club announced winners of its June 28 game. Hosts were Leo and Mona Langlois and Horace and Freddie Nelson.

Blue winners were: Florence McNikol, first; Hazel Stellmacher, second; and Phil Hawley, third.

Pink winners were: Jane Golden, first; Alice Akins, second; and Beulah Duncan, third.
