Howard M. Edman

? Services for Howard M. Edman, 93, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Alpine Cemetery in Osage County.

Mr. Edman died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at a care facility in Topeka.

He was born March 4, 1909, in Olivet, the son of Herbert A. and Josephine N. (Criqui) Edman. He graduated from Olivet High School and Ottawa Business College. He had lived in Topeka since 1930.

Mr. Edman was president of Southwick Automotive from 1943 until he retired in November 1971. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 1, AARP, Golden Arches Club and Arkansas Cattleman Assn.

He married Eva E. Bergstrom on Dec. 24, 1933, in rural Cuba, Kan. She died in 1999.

Survivors include a foster daughter, Theo M. Penny, Lawrence, and a cousin.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
