Oxford, Miss. ? Mississippi quarterback Eli Manning will return for his senior season, skipping a chance to enter the NFL Draft.

Manning was expected to be a first-round pick had he entered the draft.

“I plan to be a good leader, so everybody needs to be ready to go to work,” Manning said Tuesday in a statement released by the university.

The Rebels went 7-6 this season and beat Nebraska in the Independence Bowl.
