Suspect convicted in shooting deaths

? A Jackson County judge on Wednesday convicted a 29-year-old man of the 1999 shooting deaths of two young people at a Kansas City, Mo., motel.

Kevin D. Woods was convicted on two counts of second-degree murder in the July 10, 1999, deaths of David L. Woods, 21, and Cashonda M. Miller, 18, at the Crown Lodge on Missouri 350. David Woods and Kevin Woods were not related.

Authorities said David Woods owed Kevin Woods $1,800. They said Kevin Woods drove a van to the Crown Lodge, where he and another man went inside to confront David Woods.
