Alfred W. Altic

? Services for Alfred W. Altic, 87, Pomona, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Altic died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa.

He was born June 4, 1916, in Ottawa, the son of William Penn and Sadie Jane (Wray) Altic. He graduated from Appanoose High School in 1934 and was a lifelong resident of the Centropolis and Appanoose community.

Mr. Altic was a dairy farmer and stockman. He served on school boards at Appanoose and Kaub schools and on the Centropolis Telephone Board.

He married Ada Charlene Wrightsman on Feb. 16, 1941, in Centropolis. She died Dec. 24, 1998.

Survivors include three sons, Edward and Robert, both of Pomona, and Richard, Platte City, Mo.; a sister, Cecile Anderson, Pomona; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the mortuary, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
