Sandrat Trail Run: The 12th annual Sandrat Trail Run is scheduled for Oct. 6 at Taylor Park. The 9.5-mile run will be mostly on the Kansas River Trails. Also slated is a 0.6 mile Rug Rat Run. KU Club Soccer Wins: Oumar Seck, Nick Ens, Cody Buller and Hans Broers scored two goals apiece as Kansas rocked Pittsburg State, 11-1, in men’s club soccer last Saturday. Also scoring for KU were Andy Nussbaum, Drew Darmon and Sean Murray. Kansas (3-0) will go to Baker on Friday and Northwest Missouri State on Saturday.

FCA Benefit Gala: Carey Casey, national vice president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will speak at the Lawrence Area FCA fund-raiser next Monday at the Kansas Union Ballroom. Casey is former chaplain for the Dallas Cowboys and the U.S. Olympic team. For ticket information, call 749-4664.

KU Judo Sweep: Kansas University’s Elizabeth Collins, Amber Jones and Cassy Pallo finished 1-2-3 in the senior women’s 70-kilogram division of a judo tournament last Saturday in Tulsa, Okla.

Sport 2 Sport Tryouts: Sport 2 Sport will be holding tryouts for fourth to seventh grade club basketball tournament teams the Flames (girls) on Saturday and the Jayhawks (boys) on Sept. 28. For information, call 843-4263 or check www.sport2sport.com.

Wellman, Latimer Win: Keith Wellman won the men’s division and Nicole Latimer the women’s portion of the Mass Street Mile sponsored by Lawrence Parks and Recreation. Wellman was timed in 4:23 and Latimer in 5:13.

Donley Honor: Julie Jenkins Donley of Lawrence will be inducted into the Adams State University Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 4. Donley, whose husband Milan is an assistant track coach at Kansas University, won four national championships while running for the Alamosa, Colo., school in the mid-’80s. She also competed in the 800-meter run at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.

Golf Fund-Raiser: The Patty Heitzman Memorial Golf Tournament, a scholarship fund-raiser for the Lawrence Girls Fastpitch Association, is scheduled Sept. 30 at Alvamar Country Club. Entry deadline is Friday. For information, call Rodney Gilges at (785) 594-2371 or John Hamilton at 542-2860.

Strikers Tumble: Rebekah Berkley scored her 10th goal in 12 games, but it wasn’t enough as the Lawrence Strikers fell 3-1 to K.C. Omega in Heartland Soccer League play last Sunday in Olathe.
