Free State soccer falls to Hayden
Topeka Free State High’s Kayvon Sarraf and Bryan Spangler each scored a goal, but the Firebirds’ soccer team lost to Topeka Hayden 3-2 in overtime on Thursday.
“We didn’t play very well,” FSHS coach Jason Pendleton said. “For whatever reason, we came out flat and made a lot of mistakes you can’t make if you want to win.”
LHS 3rd, FSHS 4th at gymnastics meet
Prairie Village The Lawrence High and Free State gymnastics teams opened their seasons third and fourth, respectively, in a quadrangualr at Shawnee Mission East Thursday.
Shawnee Mission Northwest won, scoring 100.7 points, followed by Shawnee Mission East, 94.7, LHS, 93.45 and FSHS, 90.35.
