Edmonds services

? Services for Zelpha Mae Edmonds, 85, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Edmonds died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of L.B. “Bert” and Alma M. (Bateman) Casebier. She had lived in the Oskaloosa area her entire life and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1935.

She was a sales clerk for J.C. Penney Co. Inc. in Lawrence for 10 years and was a dietary aide for several years at Jefferson County Geriatrics Center in Winchester.

Mrs. Edmonds was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Oskaloosa, where she was an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher and was involved in United Presbyterian Women; and Grayson Happy Hour Club, rural Oskaloosa.

She married Rufus Albert Edmonds on Sept. 8, 1937, in Oskaloosa. He died Aug. 3, 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Edmonds, Oskaloosa, and Donald Edmonds, McLouth; a daughter, Patricia Edmonds Evans, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Waldron Casebier, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Izetta Schoenrock, Mukwonago, Wis.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon Sunday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, where the family will receive them from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
